Therapeutic Sessions
Our therapeutic sessions offer a healing space for individuals to engage in personal wellness, guided by the nature and personal self care. These 2-hour sessions invite participants to actively explore their own journeys through trauma and stress, supported by therapeutic experiences with horses and creative arts.

Each
session includes:
  • Non-riding horsemanship and horse interaction to foster connection, trust, and emotional awareness
  • Nature-based artistic expression, allowing healing through creativity and reflection
  • Opportunities for quiet reflection and personal spiritual insight
  • Optional group sharing, creating a safe environment for mutual support and understanding.
These sessions are designed to be gentle yet powerful, encouraging transformation through care, connection with nature, and meaningful interaction with others walking similar paths.

FAQs

How do I dress for the session?
Wear comfortable clothes and appropriate for the weather and outdoors. Wear closed toe shoes.  Hiking or work boots are highly recommended.  No sandals or slides.

I have many allergies, should I come?
You will be exposed to environmental elements including dirt, dust, insects, and plants.  Please plan accordingly by bringing emergency medications or taking preventive therapies to ensure you can participate for 2 hours, comfortably.

Can I bring my dog (including all service animals)?
Due to the nature of working around horses, no dogs or service animals are permitted.  This provision is afforded due in the legislation for animal therapy in which endangerment of the attending persons and animals could be at risk.

What is the cost for the session?
Each session has a suggested donation. Donations of any amount are also appreciated to help off set art supplies and and horse care are accepted.  The average suggested donation is between $30 and $50 for specific sessions. This helps us to continue offering these workshops to everyone.

Will I be riding horses or will you allow me to ride?
These workshops are non-riding and will not include mounted exercises.  You will, however, be interacting and managing a horse(s) on the ground to your comfort level.  No one is required to be in contact with an animal if they wish not to be. Dr. Ent does occasionally offer riding lessons at the farm, but does not offer riding for entertainment purposes.

I have children and I want them to participate with the adults, can they?
Due to the age difference between minors and adults, when minors are permitted they will participate in their own tailored session and be separate from adults.  This will only be an option if a professional is available.  The directors of the program are unable to offer babysitting services.

I don't feel like participating after I registered, can I just not show or cancel?
No shows or cancellations with short notice, prevent someone else from attending.  Since these workshops fill to capacity, unexcused cancellations could result in being removed from future sessions to permit individuals dedicated to making time to participate.
