Our Goal

Nestled on a 350-acre historical farmstead, Doubletree Farm, our mission is to provide a safe, restorative environment for individuals seeking healing  through nature-assisted expressive arts therapy. Inspired by the legacy of this land and the life of Mrs. Eleanor Clark Ent, we offer wellness experiences that integrate the healing power of nature, animals, creative expression, and the natural world. Through intentional connection with animals, art, and a healing landscape, we support personal growth, renewal, and emotional well-being for all who enter this space.

What we do.

We offer trauma-informed sessions that foster healing and personal growth by reconnecting individuals with nature and their own creative spirit. Through expressive arts, nature, and equine experiences, participants engage in meaningful, hands-on activities designed to support emotional regulation, self-expression, and resilience. Our sessions include healing opportunities such as (not limited to):

  • Working alongside horses to build trust, awareness, and self-regulation through equine assisted learning,  movement, and mindful connection
  • Creating embodiment art that integrates personal equine interaction and reflection techniques to safely explore and express feelings
  • Designing fractal, equine, and nature-inspired prints that mirror patterns of growth, resilience, and healing
  • Gathering natural materials—such as plant-based pigments, clay, or horsehair—to create art that deepens connection to the earth, animals, and self
  • Engaging in nature journalism, visual storytelling, and rhythmic or other expressions inspired by time spent with horses and the natural world
Each session offers a safe space for personal reflection, renewal, and growth. While our work is inspired by faithful principles such as compassion, grace, and respect, sessions are not religious and do not promote any specific belief system. We draw on universal values and the natural world to support healing and connection for all individuals, regardless of background.

Understanding Our Approach

Picture
The Concord School of 1848 and Carriage House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers nature-assisted therapeutic experiences at Doubletree Farm to inspire healing, renewal, and personal growth. Rather than traditional therapy, our sessions guide individuals through creative, nature-based experiences that foster reflection, resilience, and connection.

Horses, when included, serve as intuitive partners in the process. We observe their natural responses as they often “mirror” the emotional state of participants, offering insight and feedback in a nonjudgmental way. Similarly, the land, trees, sky, and seasons offer sacred spaces for grounding, creativity, and spiritual connection.

Each session is designed to meet individuals where they are, offering safe, trauma-informed opportunities to engage with God’s creation as part of a holistic path toward healing. While our work is deeply supportive and restorative, our team members are not licensed counselors, psychologists, or psychiatrists and will not provide clinical counseling services. However, our facilitators hold certifications and/or advanced training in K-12 Art Education, Instruction and Learning, Nursing and Hospice Care, Health Care Administration, Spiritual Counseling, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, and Equine and Nature-Assisted Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy. All of our team members will assist anyone seeking clinical care to the care of a professional, if asked.  For more information about our team, please click here.
